What is SouthShore like?

SouthShore is the guard gated south side of Lake Las Vegas. Work began in 1993, right after the lake was filled, which made it the first gated community on the water. Inside are some of the largest lakefront homes in the valley and a private golf club.

SouthShore Country Club opened in 1996 as Nevada's first private Jack Nicklaus Signature course, climbing from the shore into the desert hills. Membership is bought from the club and does not come with a home.

Eleven smaller neighborhoods share the gate, with names like Siena, Monaco, Barcelona, Marseilles, and Mantova. Homes range from villas, townhomes, and condos to custom estates, and some custom homesites are still for sale. Some lakefront homes have docks for electric boats, and the two-mile Grand Mediterra Linear Park runs through the middle. Owners pay the Lake Las Vegas master association, the SouthShore association for the gate and patrol, and usually a third for their neighborhood.
