What is it like to live in Rhodes Ranch?

Rhodes Ranch gives you a guard gate, a golf course, and a full rec center without the price tag that usually comes with all three. Jim Rhodes announced it in 1996, the golf course opened in November 1997, and the giant RHODES RANCH letters at the entrance have been a local landmark ever since.

Most of daily life happens at the R Club on Rhodes Ranch Parkway. It is a 35,000 square foot building with a gym and indoor courts, and the Fun Zone water park and a lap pool sit right next door. It all comes with your HOA dues, so there is no club to join and no second bill.

The golf course is a public Ted Robinson layout on 162 acres, with eight lakes and thousands of palm trees, and it winds through the older neighborhoods. Homes on it tend to be the larger ones from the late 1990s and early 2000s. You can browse them on our Rhodes Ranch golf homes page. Because the course is public, you will see outside golfers on it, and homes along the fairways get the occasional stray ball.

Century Communities bought the remaining land in 2014 and built many of the newest homes, which are generally smaller and closer to the valley median. So the same gate covers a wide spread of ages and sizes, and some neighborhoods add their own association fee on top of the master. Durango Casino is about six minutes away, Mountains Edge Regional Park is about ten, and the 215 gets you to Summerlin and Red Rock Canyon fast. Spanish Trail and Southern Highlands are the other gated golf communities buyers here usually compare.
