What is Southern Highlands Golf Club like?

Southern Highlands Golf Club is the guard gated center of Southern Highlands. Three staffed entries lead to private roads, and more than 17,000 trees hide many of the homes from the street. The community's biggest estates are here.

The private 18-hole course is one of the few that Robert Trent Jones Sr. and his son designed together. Golfweek put it 41st among residential courses in 2014, and the Golf Digest Index named its clubhouse the best in the country in 2015.

Several neighborhoods share the gates. The Estates holds custom homes, some over 19,000 square feet. Beleza has semi-custom Christopher homes on lots of about a third to half an acre. Resort Villas start near 1,900 square feet and take less upkeep. The Masters has larger single-family homes, and Olympia Ridge, behind a second gate, still has custom homes going up. Owning a home here does not include a membership, which is separate and optional.
